- Gluten Free & Allergy Free Expo!
- Weekend Visitor
Hey everyone, I wanted to take some time to spread the word about the Gluten Free & Allergy Free Expo in Worcester on July 22-23! For starters, what I love about the expo is that it’s the easiest way to discover and try new products and find out about new brands. Sometimes I’m hesitant to buy new products at the grocery store and I tend to favor certain brands. Last year at the expo I discovered a lot of other brands I liked, which I now buy on a weekly basis. I’m excited to see what’s new this year! Along with sampling from new brands, they also offer classes, sell food, and give away coupons. Even if you’ve had celiac or food allergies for a while I still recommend the expo because there are always new vendors. This will be my fourth year in attendance and every year I recruit more and more friends/ family to attend with. I will be doing two ticket giveaways on my Instagram & Facebook this week so stay tuned! For more information regarding the expo you can visit their website www.gfafexpo.com. The expo travels to many locations around the U.S. not just Worcester. Come hungry & I hope to see some of you there!
Let’s talk snacks: the healthy and the unhealthy! They say everything is healthy in “moderation”, but I can’t regulate myself while snacking and I don’t like people that can…kidding!
So let’s start with my definition of “junk foods” first because let’s get real–it’s more exciting. I love Sweet Jalapeño Cape Cod chips, Snyder’s pretzels dipped in cream cheese, Smart Food popcorn, Caribbean Coconut Talenti gelato, Alouette spreads with Nut Thins, corn nuts and pretty much anything spicy.
That was probably the hardest list I’ve ever had to narrow down, it seriously took me 30 minutes.
You may notice there is no candy on the list; I’d rather have salty than sweet.
Now for my “healthy” snacks: starting with Simple Mills crackers, I also love, “Just Mango” dried mango from Trader Joe’s, Salt & Pepper Skinny Pop, Siete Grain Free Tortilla Chips, Halo Ice Cream, salted cashews, Pirates Booty and organic pickles.
I’m extremely curious about your favorite snacks! Make sure to comment them below!
This weekend I have a visitor staying with me! He drools, has wrinkles, and snores loudly! Meet my brother’s English Bulldog, Grizzly. He is a total sweet heart and loves to snuggle–I can’t get enough of him and neither can my boyfriend. He follows us around the house all day and if we sit on the couch he will whine until he can come up too! He doesn’t like to be left out. He also doesn’t like playing outside because the weather has been so cold… I think just about everyone is ready for warmer weather.
This weekend I’m taking my parents to Barcelona Wine Bar for the first time. I think I like taking other people to new restaurants more than I like going to new restaurants myself; especially a restaurant I’m obsessed with. That way I can tell them everything they need to order. Since my mom is coming I finally have someone I can split all the gluten free tapas with. I’m also going to make some new recipes this weekend, I’m thinking spinach rolled lasagna since I need some more entrees in my repertoire. I’m also going to have my mom make me chicken soup since mine never seems to taste as good as hers does. Stay warm and have a great weekend!
